Anti-Ragging Cell

In view of the directions of the University Grants Commission 2009, notified on 4th July, 2009 in the Gazette of India and Government of Andhra Pradesh to Prohibit, Prevent and Eliminate the scourge of ragging at SBVR Agricultural College has developed an Institutional Policy to prevent ragging. Institution has laid out strict rules against the student found guilty of ragging. An Anti-Ragging committee has been formed at institutional level to avoid ragging & also take appropriate action in case of any event. The core objectives of the committee are to ensure ragging free campus. The committee rigorously conduct following activities.

·         Anti-Ragging committee ensures to collect undertaking by student and parents at the time of admission. Undertaking is collected either offline or online as per the instructions of the institution.

·         Anti-ragging committee ensures creating awareness during induction program and on continuous basis against ragging menace and severity of the punishments under IPC sections.

·         PED and Security head organize programs for encouraging team building and unity between seniors and juniors and to develop an inclusive environment at the institution.

·         Sports and Cultural Teams are formed to encourage bonding between different group of students.

·         Surprise Raids are conducted in hostels and other vulnerable places to avoid incidents of ragging.

·         Dedicated authorities Mail-ID and contact details along with anti-ragging policy are displayed across key locations in the campus.

·         CCTV cameras are installed and security personnel are posted at sensitive areas of the campus.

Committee maintains confidentiality of the whistle blower in event of any ragging and take appropriate action as per the law of the land.
