The department deals with the crop protection, here students are put into observation of different crop pest, understanding the life history of pests and their damage level and sound management practices in different crops to serve farmers. In this department the students are allowed to collect insects and their immature stages for future observation and the rearing techniques of each insect. The Students have done individual and group assignments on record work, collection of insects and chart preparation.

The laboratory has all necessary equipment’s like storage (Insect storage boxes, Insect showcase cabinet, Insect vial boxes and Insect box Chambers) Collection (Field collecting bags, Insect collecting net, Killing jars, Aspirator), Microscopes, insect rearing cages, Corcyra rearing cages).
